Beschreibung
McCormick digs into the early 19th century series of music journals, Arion, to bring to light some of the finest examples of this art form. Choosing only the German composers, he offers an excellent comparison with the better-known composers in this genre (Schubert, Schumann, Wolf, etc.), by showing works of their immediate predecessors in the field. This handsome volume contains brief descriptive biographies of the composers.
