Kitimbua Kivumbi is a Swahili phrase that loosely translates as “Stomp the Dust.” Shawn Okpebholo was inspired by a trip to Kenya to study the music and dances of the Machakos region. Under seven minutes, Echoes of Kutimbua Kivumbi (Stomp the Dust!) is a condensed version of his popular Kutimbua Kivumbi (Stomp the Dust!), EP68737. He observed, “This adaptation primarily focuses on my safari experience, where I encountered the beauty, authenticity, excitement, and unpredictability of wildlife, as well as my time navigating the bustling city life of Nairobi.”
