This "Sonatina Suite" was born from a friendship with Giulio Tampalini, who, on the occasion of the release of his CD dedicated to my music, proposed a project different from the composition of the "single" song that usually constitutes my writing. It was the dead of winter, and around me the cold held the gems and scents of a still-distant spring, and the music that began to form brought with it a nostalgia that immediately reminded me of a book of haikus I occasionally leafed through... I searched for verses that would inspire hope for the return of the sun and the first warm days, and the music arrived, in the wake of the seventeen syllables that form a haiku, which I have reread several times and inserted as the subtitle of each piece. The titles of the Sonatina are deliberately in Spanish, a reminder of the classical tradition from which I come and which I always carry close to my heart, in my search for a musical "modernity" that seeks above all to communicate, writing songs without words, on a journey where the listener is invited to enter almost confidentially and my guitar becomes the narrator.
